Mobile No. Portability


The long-awaited mobile number portability finally became reality in India, empowering consumers to change providers conveniently. Mobile Number Portability allows subscriber to opt for service provider of his choice but retain his mobile number. The number gets ported to the new provider. Subscriber can stay with same technology, GSM/CDMA. Also change to CDMA or vice versa. Both post-paid & prepaid subscribers can use it. Now choose your Operator as U wish. But you know the procedure of it.
Here is all in one operator procedures.?
1. Vodafone
1.For Changing from any network to Vodafone
send SMS from your current number :  PORT to “1900“
Then You will get the “UPC” code from “1901“
Validity of This “UPC” code for only 15 days.
2. Go to your nearest Vodafone ministore give your latest photo and Identity proof ( Driving license or voter ID copy) with rs 19
Note: If you don’t know the nearest Vodafone ministore then send from a Vodafone number PORT(space)(your pincode ex:680***) to “111“.
3. For activation it needs about 152 working Hours , after the activation (152 working Hours Later) YOUR Number Is “DEAD” for 2.5 Hours For Changing from your current operator to Vodafone, and after this 2.5 hours your mobile operator will be changed to Vodafone.
Done.
2. Airtel
1. SMS PORT<10 digit mobile no> to 1900 & get your UPC code.
2. Visit nearest Airtel outlet or showroom. Fill Airtel Mobile Number Porting (MNP) form providing details like current Mobile Number, current operator name and UPC code. A CRF form also needed to fill along with copy of a valid address and identity proof. Submit a passport size photograph as well.
3. You need to pay Rs. 19 port-in charge to get your MNP Airtel SIM.
4. You will get an SMS stating the day when your number will be transferred. Just insert your new Airtel SIM on the day & get started.
Note: There will be a 2-hour ‘no service period’ which will begin after the porting time as given above. The ‘no service period’ will be between 12 midnight to 5 am during which your mobile service will not be active on any SIM.
3. Tata Docomo
1. SMS PORT<10 digit mobile no> to 1900 & get your UPC code.
2. Get a new Tata DOCOMO SIM and fill an application form available at you nearest Tata DOCOMO retailer. Enter the UPC code in the application form along with copy of a valid address and identity proof. Submit a passport size photograph as well.
3. You will get an SMS stating the day when your number will be transferred. Just insert your new Tata DOCOMO SIM on the day & get started.
Note: Your number will be functional throughout this process. The switchover will happen between 10 pm to 5 am to ensure your connectivity is not disrupted.

4. MTS (CDMA)
1. Generate a Unique Porting Code (UPC) from your mobile number. To generate a UPC, SMS “PORT” (space) mobile number to 1900
2. Visit your nearest ‘MTS Store’, submit mandatory documents and fill the Customer Application Form and Port-in form, pay Port-in fee (as applicable), get a new MTS CDMA SIM and request for port-in.
3. New SIM purchased will be activated within 7 working days. Activation date and time will be informed to you through SMS. Simply insert the MTS CDMA SIM into your phone and enjoy our services.
5. Videocon
1. Generate a Unique Porting Code (UPC) from your mobile number. To generate a UPC, SMS “PORT” (space) mobile number to 1900
2. Visit your nearest ‘Videocon Retail Outlet’, submit mandatory documents and fill the Customer Application Form and Port-in form, pay Port-in fee (as applicable), get a new Videocon Mobile Services SIM and request for port-in.
3. New SIM purchased will be activated within 7 working days. Activation date and time will be informed to you through SMS. Simply insert the Videocon Mobile Services SIM into your phone and enjoy our services.

3. BSNL
1.  Get your UPC by sending SMS PORT to 1900 in following format ‘Port Space 10 Digit Mobile Number.
2.  : Go to your nearest BSNL Customer Care center and fill Customer Application Form and Port-in form along with mandatory documents. You will not be charged for anything as BSNL provides this service for free. You will get a SIM from BSNL. Don’t use the SIM right now.
3. An SMS will arrive within max 96 hours stating disconnection from current service provider. You should insert BSNL SIM now, within next 2 hours your operator switching will be completed.
That’s it. You now switched to BSNL network without changing your old mobile number.

Note this service is applicable on switching between CDMA to GSM, GSM to CDMA, CDMA to CDMA and GSM to GSM.
7. MTNL
1. Port-in customer will take UPC by sending SMS PORT followed by 10 Digit Mobile Number to 1900.
2. After sending SMS to 1900, User will receive UPC (Unique Porting Code) as a SMS from 1901 giving 8 digit alpha-numeric Unique Porting Code (UPC) and UPC expiry date in MM/DD/YYYY format
3. Port-in customer need to submit CAF (application form) and MNP form with UPC Along with Address & Identity proof documents, self-attested photo at nearest MTNL CSC.
4. After that you will get a New MTNL SIM, please retain it. You will get a message regarding actual time of port in, in your existing mobile number, after that you can use your new SIM and MTNL ’s next generation Mobile and Data service.
8. Aircel
1. Buy a new Aircel SIM and fill Customer Enrollment Form (CEF) and Mobile Number
Portability (MNP) form.Submit both the forms with other required documents with the
retailer or at any Aircel store.
2. SMS ‘Port XXXX (10 digit existing mobile number)’ to 1900 from your current mobile
number and get an 8 digit code through SMS.Please share the code with the retailer
or Aircel store executive.
3. You will immediately receive an SMS confirming port order. *Later, you will receive another
SMS confirming the date and time of porting. At the scheduled date and time replace your old
SIM with your new Aircel SIM and dial ’123′. Then do an applicable recharge to enjoy Aircel services
on your current number.
To switch, call 9716397163 (exclusive MNP helpline for non-Aircel users) or visit your nearest Aircel Store.
9. Idea
1.  First you will need to generate a Unique Porting Code (UPC) from your mobile number. To generate this code you just need to send SMS as “PORT” (space) mobile number to 1900.
2.  After sending sms, visit your nearest My Idea store, submit mandatory documents and fill the Customer Application Form and Port-in form, pay Port-in fee of Rs. 37 (includes Rs. 19 as Porting charge + Rs.18 as New Sim card charge), get a new Idea SIM and request for port-in.
3. Now, new SIM purchased will be activated within 7 working days. Activation date and time will be informed to you through SMS. As soon as you receive sms, you need to insert the Idea SIM into your phone and enjoy the services of Idea cellular.

10. Tata Indicom
1. To enjoy the benefits of the TATA Indicom network, simply send an SMS
SMS: Port SPACE through the number to be Ported out to the toll free number 1900.
2.   A Unique Porting Code would be generated through which the porting process would be initiated
3.  On generation of the UPC*, you will have to fill in the CAF and submit the mandatory documents as prescribed by DOT at   the nearest TATA outlet.
11. Uninor
You can switch to Uninor in three easy steps:
1. SMS PORT to 1900 and get your UPC code.
2. Fill up an Application form at the nearest Uninor retailer. Just make sure it has
a.) Your UPC code
b.) A Copy of your valid Address and Identity proof
c.) Passport size photo
3. We’ll SMS you as soon as your number gets transferred.
And it’s done! Now you can insert the Uninor SIM into your handset and start talking.
The porting process normally takes 7 days.
During this no service period your existing mobile number will not be active.
12. Reliance
How do You join Reliance with the same number? “Port-in” to Reliance is simple:
* From your existing mobile number please send a Port-Out request to your current operator by typing “ < Port > < mobile number >”
* Send this SMS to 1900 (charges as per your current operator SMS rate)
* You will receive as SMS from 1901 with a Unique Port Code (UPC). This is valid for 15 days
* You can now approach any of our RCOM stores or retailer and fill up a CAF (Customer Application Form) like any normal customer. Please note you will need to submit the usual required documents ie Proof of Address, Proof of Identity, photograph.
* You will get a new Reliance SIM card.
* For the next 5 days (as per regulation) you will continue to be on current operator.
* On the 6th day you can remove your old SIM and insert the new Reliance SIM. You would have joined the network of choice for over 125 million customers.

13. Loop BPL
1. To begin with, you need to generate UPC (Unique Porting Code) by sending SMS to 1900. UPC is an alphanumeric code allocated, upon request, by a mobile operator to its subscriber for the purpose of facilitation of porting of his ? her mobile number to another operator.
*SMS to be sent : PORT to 1900. Operator SMS charges will be applicable.
* Eg. SMS PORT 98XXXXXXXX to 1900
2. After sending SMS to 1900, you will receive UPC (Unique Porting Code) as a SMS from 1901 giving 8 digit alpha-numeric Unique Porting Code (UPC) and UPC expiry date in MM ? DD ? YYYY format.
3. Visit our nearest Loop Mobile Gallery
4. Fill Loop Mobile Mobile Number Porting (MNP) form providing details like
* Current Mobile Number
* Current Operator name
* UPC code
5. Submit Address & Id proof documents, self-attested photo and last bill copy of postpaid connection (if applicable) along-with filled MNP form and Customer Agreement Form.
6. Buy the Loop Mobile MNP SIM card from Loop Mobile outlet ? showroom. SIM charges, talktime value and porting charge are non-refundable in the event of cancellation ? rejection of port-in request.
7. Loop Mobile will send an SMS on your old/existing operator’s SIM (existing connection) intimating about the porting date and time, i.e. the date and approximate time till when you can continue to use your existing operator’s SIM card.
8. There will be a 2 – hour ‘no service period’ which will begin after the porting time as given above. The ‘no service period’ will be between 12 midnight to 5 am during which your mobile service will not be active on any SIM. All efforts will be made to ensure that this ‘no service period’ causes minimum inconvenience to you.
9. After the’no service period’, you can replace your existing operator’s SIM card with the new Loop Mobile SIM card in your handset.
Once your Loop Mobile SIM card is activated you would be ready to enjoy Loop Mobile’s high – quality network, innovative value added services and best–in class customer service using your existing mobile number.
