If you are receiving many promotion Calls and SMS's on your mobile number and wont to stop those massages you need to active DND (Do Not Disturb) on your mobile number. So here are two ways by which you can active or deactivate DND on your mobile number.
DND (Do Not Disturb)
If you fully want to active DND on your mobile number phone just send an SMS “START DND” to “1909” or you can also call “1909” and if you can want to fully deactivate (stop) DND, you just need to send an SMS “STOP DND” to “1909” or you can call to “1909”.
If you want to active or deactivate DND for a specific industry you need to send SMS to “1909” with the detail give below
“START 1” for receiving SMS relating to Banking/Insurance/Financial Products/Credit Cards
“START 2” for receiving SMS relating to Real Estate
“START 3” for receiving SMS relating to Education
“START 4” for receiving SMS relating to Health
“START 5” for receiving SMS relating to Consumer Goods and Automobiles
“START 6” for receiving SMS relating to Communication/Broadcasting/Entertainment/IT
“START 7” for receiving SMS relating to Tourism and Leisure
If you want to active or deactivate DND for more than one industry, so you can stop or start receiving Calls and SMSs from those industries, you don’t need to send SMS as many SMS, in as many industries you are interested in. For e.g.: If you are interested in Education and Health so you can simply send a SMS “START 3,4” to “1909” and you have already active Real Estate, Education and Health, now you want to stop receiving Calls and SMSs from Real Estate and Health simply send a SMS “STOP 2,4” to “1909” and you will not receive any Calls or SMSs from them.
Note: -
All SMS should be written in capital letters (in upper case)
Your DND will get active or deactivate in seven days
If you received any Call or SMS after the request of seven days for activation of DND, you may call “1909” and register a complain
All SMS and Calls to 1909 is toll free, you will be not charged anything for this number.
If you get charged for this number (1909) kindly contact your Customer Care of your network service provider (toll free from all-198 (all states))

something important before u activate dnd-
TRAI has provided instructions on what are transactional messages, for example- SMS from banks, railway, airlines, educational institutes etc. According to TRAI, SMS from only these organizations will be treated as transactional and SMS from rest all will be treated as non-transactional (or promotional). The problem here is – ALL non-transactional SMS will be passed through NCPR and they won’t be delivered if the receiver number is registered in it. This essentially means all the solicited and important messages like those from- courier, auto service, corporate/community group messages, facebook/google alerts, yellow pages info, ticketing, event updates, news alerts, subscribed SMS and so on will NOT be delivered to you if your number is registered in NCPR.
